Save Babies Through Screening Foundation UK, A Resource on Newborn Screening

Newborn screening month in September each year was original adopted by the USA and Canada to increase public awareness of the importance of newborn screening in identifying disorders in newborn babies at the earliest opportunity and to enable life saving or life enhancing treatment to be given.

 

This year we have similarly adopted September as our Newborn Screening Awareness month in the UK. Along with articles in the UK press, we are writing to key people about the work of Save Babies UK.

 

If you have a family member affected with a rare disease that could have been detected and treated at birth, you may also wish to help us by writing to your own MP to further raise awareness of the importance of newborn screening.
